TDengine Sales Enablement

The standard process and assets to sell, demo, evaluate, and deploy TDengine

Stage 1: Qualify

Before starting a PoC, we confirm that TDengine is a good fit for the customer and choose the best evaluation path:

  • First-time historian or data management platform
  • PI System alternative for new deployments or expansions

In This Stage

  • Confirm data sources (OPC UA, MQTT, PI System, etc.)
  • Estimate rough scale (assets, ingestion rate, retention, etc)
  • Select an evaluation path

Output

  • Qualification snapshot completed
  • PoC path selected

Stage 2: Demo

Next, we align all stakeholders on what TDengine will prove in evaluation and what success looks like. We run a demo showing how TDengine works in a similar use case.

Materials

In This Stage

  • Present the standard story and evaluation plan
  • Confirm the PoC package, timeline, and success criteria
  • Run the standard demo and close with the PoC plan

Demo Flow

  1. Show ingestion status
  2. Show time-based queries
  3. Show dashboards
  4. Show one operational workflow (events/alerts/analysis)
  5. Close with “what the PoC will validate”

Output

  • Agreement on PoC path, scope, and timeline

Stage 3: Proof of Concept

The PoC begins, and we validate ingestion, data model fit, and query/dashboard performance on real data within a standard scope.

  • First-time historian path takes around 30 days
  • PI System alternative path takes around 45 days

Materials

In this stage

  • Register the deal
  • Kick off the PoC using the standard checklist
  • Deploy the reference environment and connect agreed data sources
  • Deliver the standard outputs defined in the PoC package

Output

  • Deal registered
  • PoC deliverables completed
  • PoC results ready for review

Stage 4: Decision

After the PoC, we convert its outcomes outcomes into a clear decision and production plan.

Materials

  • PoC Success Criteria (from PoC A/B pages)
  • Production Readiness Checklist

In this stage

  • Review results against the agreed success criteria
  • Document production assumptions (scale, topology, retention, integrations)
  • If proceeding, initiate pricing/licensing workflow

Output

  • Proceed / adjust / stop decision
  • Production assumptions documented

Stage 5: Production

Once the decision has been made, we deploy a supported production system for the customer.

Materials

In this stage

  • Confirm production sizing and deployment pattern
  • Submit pricing and license requests
  • Execute production deployment using reference patterns

Output

  • Pricing approved
  • License issued
  • Production deployment completed
