From Reactor Alarm to Root Cause

A Free, Live, Hands-On Workshop Using Industrial Data and AI

TDengine Free Tier Workshop Session 3

A chemical reactor has shut down. Multiple alarms occurred across the process, and product quality fell below specification.

What happened first? How did the problem spread? And what was the most likely root cause?

Join us this Thursday to investigate the incident using TDengine’s asset-centric visualization and AI-powered insights.

Thursday, October 8, 2026

07:00 – 08:30 a.m. PT | 04:00 – 05:30 p.m. CET

60-minute workshop followed by an optional 30-minute live Q&A

Investigate a Realistic Industrial Scenario

You’ll work with simulated chemical-production data from a reactor shutdown scenario.

Instead of reviewing individual alarms separately, you’ll bring together process, equipment, energy, and product-quality data to reconstruct the event and determine what likely caused it.

The answer will not be provided at the beginning. You’ll use the data to find it.

What You’ll Learn

During the workshop, you’ll learn how to:

  • Navigate industrial data through an asset hierarchy
  • Build a dashboard using data from related equipment
  • Compare operational trends on a common timeline
  • Identify the earliest abnormal condition and follow its downstream impact
  • Use AI insights to produce an evidence-based root-cause analysis

Optional 30-Minute Live Q&A

Stay afterward for an optional 30-minute Q&A about visualization, AI insights, installation, or applying the same workflow to your own industrial data.

Prepare Before the Workshop

To participate hands-on, please install TDengine All-in-One before the session.

  1. Install TDengine All-in-One.
  2. Open Admin Console → Sample Data.
  3. Load Chemical Reactor Batch Analysis.

Please complete the setup before Thursday so we can begin the investigation immediately.

If you cannot finish the installation, you can still attend and follow the live demonstration.

Who Should Attend?

This workshop is designed for:

  • Process and production engineers
  • Controls and automation engineers
  • Reliability and maintenance teams
  • Historian and PI System users
  • Industrial data engineers
  • OT and IT architects
  • System integrators
  • Anyone exploring industrial AI and root-cause analysis

No chemical-engineering background is required.

One Platform for Industrial Data

TDengine combines the capabilities industrial teams expect from a traditional historian with modern analytics and AI:

  • Industrial data collection and storage
  • Equipment and asset modeling
  • Real-time dashboards and visualization
  • Advanced operational analytics
  • AI-powered operational insights
  • Integration with modern data and AI tools

Instead of assembling separate tools for data storage, asset modeling, dashboards, analytics, and AI, you can work with them in one integrated platform.

Start Free, and Keep Using It Free

TDengine is free forever for deployments with up to 5,000 tags, including production use.

After the workshop, you can continue using the environment you installed and apply what you learned to your own industrial data.

FAQs

Is this a webinar or a hands-on workshop?

It is a guided workshop. You can perform the investigation in your own TDengine environment while the instructor demonstrates each step.

Do I need to have attended Sessions 1 or 2?

No. This workshop stands on its own.

Do I need previous TDengine or chemical-process experience?

No. The scenario and relevant TDengine features will be explained during the session.

Do I need to install TDengine beforehand?

Yes, if you want to participate hands-on. Install TDengine All-in-One and load the Chemical Reactor Batch Analysis sample before the workshop.

Can I attend without completing the installation?

Yes. You can follow the live demonstration and complete the exercise later.
